The National Blood Center of the Thai Red Cross Society, has been the only organization responsible for procuring stem cell donors who are not related to the patients since 2002. They have been able to recruit 299,628 volunteers for stem cell donation, but there have only been 457 people who can actually donate to patients even though there are still 2,346 hematopoietic stem cell transfusions patients waiting to be transplanted. There was a campaign at the National Blood Center to recruit more volunteers to donate stem cells as well as organize the 7th annual event for World Marrow Donor Day 2021 with the idea of celebrating in a stream with the WMDA through the WMDD YouTube channel around the world. This would let people around the world show their gratitude to stem cell donors and stem cell donation volunteers who has given patients with blood diseases the opportunity for stem cell transplantation therapy.
Come and be part of the World Marrow Donor Day 2021 Appreciation Day and watch a video about the true story of the miracle stem cell pair.
The video will be shown around the world via a 24 h. live stream on the 18th September 2021 at 1:00pm – 4.00pm ICT and on the 19th of September 2021 at 9:00am – 12.00pm ICT.
